Mr. Shailendra Singh is a Sustainable Development Strategist, with a keen appreciation of the impact of climate change on business models. With a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (UDCT, Mumbai) & MBA (JBIMS. Mumbai), he has nearly four decades of technical & commercial experience in Chemicals, Plastics & Packaging , Coatings & Adhesives with leading Global MNC’s in Asia- Pacific Region in senior leadership roles, both within India and outside India. His last role was that of MD & CEO of DIC India Limited a public listed Japanese MNC, based out of Noida, India. He has held board positions in Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Society of Plastic Engineers- India; All India Printing Inks Manufacturer Association (AIPIMA), to name a few.

He now manages his own consulting company M/s SustainMantra, focusing on Sustainability & Circular Economy & is a Director in Dhartie Net Zero Pvt Ltd, where the focus is on providing practical, grounded consulting and implementation services related to ESG. He believes that in order to bring about change at scale, 4C’s are most important, Collaboration | Commitment |Commerce| Communication & it is with this attitude that he is working on the MSME segment in India, encouraging them to take the first step on the Sustainability Journey.

Brief Overview of Portfolio of Projects/Assignments:

As an ESG Consultant, some of the projects that he has spearheaded are:

· INR 700 Crore company in North India in Sustainable Fibers (Waste to Wealth)

· INR 300 Crore company in Delhi, Packaging – Mono- Material Packaging structures.

· INR 70 Crore company in Gujarat- Plastic Packaging recycling for circularity.

· INR 250 Crore company in Mumbai-Equipment for Environment related testing, quality /monitoring purposes.

· INR 1000 crores automotive a accessories global supplier.

· NR 1000 crores company making specialty chemicals from bio-mass.

He has also generously provided mentorship to Global start-ups in Textile industry through Fashion for Good, Netherland & to plastic recycling companies. He was also the Chief Sustainability Consultant to the Foundation of Innovative Packaging & Sustainability & is a Member of ASSOCHAM -Environment Council. He held positions in the environment committee of AIPMA as well as collaborated with UNDP in Project Prithvi.

He is also on the Board of Amity University Environmental Sciences Course & has collaborated with TERI and UNEP, Zurich on various projects.
